To Pimp A Documentary

Logline: A short documentary exploring the impact of hip-hop & rap among young adults.

While in production for HOOPN SZN 2, I still had so many friends I wanted to incorporate within this ‘time capsule’ that I was creating to remember my senior year. I had no intent on making a documentary, but I figured it was best to tell everyone’s story openly and honestly. We created an opportunity for ourselves to finally have the space to talk about our love for rap & hip-hop. I had the idea in the first week of March, and we were filming the first half of this documentary the following week. It would also be our last week of high school due to COVID-19, but we returned to the project a few months later to create something I cherish because of its honesty and naturalism.
